What is Parnaparin Sodium?

Parnaparin is an heparin of low molecular weight with antithrombotic effects.

Mechanism of action:

Parnaparin Sodium is used in the prevention and treatment of venous thromboembolism (deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism) and in the treatment of myocardial infarction.

Pharmacokinetics:

Distribution: Mainly in blood.
Metabolism: Renal and hepatic. Peak plasma levels of anti-Xa activity: 3 hr; Plasma half-life: 6 hr. The anti-Xa activity persists in plasma for 20 hr after single dose.
Excretion: Via urine.

Store at ≤30°C.
